Project involved dividing an existing lot into 2 parcels. One lot to contain the existing Queen Anne style home, and the new lot for the new home depicted.
We obtained approvals for the proposed design by working with the neighborhood organization and the Landmarks commission.
The house was designed to fits in with the forms of the Queen Anne style while keeping a contemporary look. We accomplished this by keeping the newly designed house in proportion to the neighborhood houses. Many design decisions were influenced by the existing neighborhood such as window spacing and material selections. Thus the new house was able to seamlessly blend in with those surrounding it.
